BE transported to New Orleans from the heart of Solihull this weekend, as some of the country’s most talented jazz musicians take to the stage for Touchwood’s Sunday Jazz Session.
Featuring the sultry and energetic sounds of nationally acclaimed Tipitina and the gifted fingertips of Venezuelan pianist Edgar Macias, the performance will allow you to sit back, relax and help you unwind from the week.
Or why not come along to see the last batch of Solihull hopefuls battle it out in the final round of Touchwood Has Talent. Then, if you love singing along to old favourites, don’t miss Ultimate Abba, one of the UK’s most popular Abba tribute bands, who will be lighting up the stage with their ‘Dancing Queen’ routines on Saturday night.
There’s also still a chance to offer your support for the latest round of unsigned bands to take to the stage on Thursday for Touchwood Unsigned, including local band ‘The Duvets’.
Finally, take advantage of the free salsa lessons on offer from Latin Motion at our Friday Fiesta, before Andalus, the UK’s leading Rumba-flamenco Latin guitar band, whip up the ultimate party atmosphere with Gipsy King sounds and well known Latin hits.
The Touchwood Summer Music Festival runs in Library Square until August 30 offering fantastic live events and some of the best music and entertainment the Midlands has to offer. With themed nights, the festival has something to suit everyone’s taste as well as plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy.
