A YOUNG biker died in a road smash when his motorcycle hit a lamp post and a tree, an inquest heard last week.

Joseph Connors, from Knowle, suffered a cardiac arrest after he lost control of his Honda 600cc machine in Station Road, Balsall Common, near Solihull, on October 8 last year.

The inquest heard the 23-year-old was an experienced rider but did not hold the type of licence needed for the bike.

West Midlands Police collision investigator Sgt Richard Breeze said: “It’s like letting a learner driver out in a Ferrari.”

Birmingham assistant deputy coroner Stephen Campbell recorded that Mr Connors, who was known as Jake, died as the result of an accident.
