These include six tills, two account servicing machines, a cheque deposit machine and more cash point machines. There will also be dedicated tills for business customers and Premier customers.

To celebrate the grand opening of the new branch the Barclays Premier League trophy will be on display in the branch on Saturday, giving the people of Solihull the chance to see the trophy first hand, and take a look around the new premises especially designed with customers in mind.

Mike Amato, chief distribution and product officer, Barclays UK Retail Banking said: “We’ve listened to what our customers told us and as a result, have made banking with Barclays as easy and enjoyable as possible – and this branch, right here in the heart of Solihull delivers on that goal”.

“The new branch in Solihull embraces innovative technology and design which will enable our customers to bank with us in a way that suits them and in surroundings that are comfortable and accessible for all.”

To celebrate the grand opening, lots of activities took place in and around the new branch to entertain customers and passers-by including line dancing, a classical string quartet, Barclays summer carnival with fairground attractions including a coconut shy, hook a duck, shooting gallery, hammer striker, free ice cream and great giveaways.

Additional staff were on hand to support the anticipated crowds and football fans were able to have their photo taken with the Premier League trophy.
