A FIVE-year restoration project on a Shirley school has now been completed.
The borough’s Mayor, Councillor Ken Hawkins, was there to officially re -open Mill Lodge Primary School at a special ceremony, following modernisation.
The school, which has grown considerably in recent years, had become a patchwork of temporary buildings and ‘bolted on’ wooden structures.
Planning began back in 2007, with Solihull Council’s teams working closely with the school and stakeholders to realise Mill Lodge’s new vision.
Following completion almost half of the building has been completely rebuilt, with new ventilation, heating and equipment.
The rest of the site has also been renovated.
