FLYBE, Europe’s largest regional airline, has launched its summer flight programme from Birmingham to Lyon.
The new, six times a week year-round schedule is expected to develop further the strong twinning link that already exists between the two cities.
Lyon is a destination of major importance to both the business and leisure market, being a place not only renowned for all things gastronomic, but also a major centre for the banking, chemical, bio and pharmaceutical sectors.
Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing said: “We are continually looking for ways in which we can expand and improve our network for our passengers. “With strong existing links already established between Birmingham and Lyon we look forward to welcoming all our new passengers on board.”
Martyn Lloyd, commercial director at Birmingham Airport, said: “Business and leisure passengers now have more choice to fly to this popular year-round destination.
“Lyon is a fantastic city which already has close links with Birmingham and the wider region, which is why we believe it will prove to be very successful.”
One way fares are from £41.99 including taxes and charges and are available for booking at www.flybe.com
