DANCING dragons will take over the town centre this month, as Solihull ushers in the Chinese New Year.

Traditional entertainment will be taking place on February 12-13 to mark the Year of the Tiger.

It’s the second year running that Solihull has celebrated the event - with the Mayor of Solihull getting things underway.

Coun Norman Davies said that the weekend would be a great opportunity to bring people together from different backgrounds.

Organiser Michael Chan said: “Last year’s event was met with great enthusiasm and this year’s promises to be even bigger, better and more colourful.

“This will be a great day out for all the family with plenty of amazing sights and activities.”

Tai Chi demonstrations, Kung Fu displays and colourful dances will be among the traditional festivities.

Apart from the activities in Mell Square, there will be an exhibition at Solihull Arts Complex between February 8-22.
