A SOLIHULL action group is calling on residents to continue to fight possible privatisation of borough health services following a major NHS restructure.
The Solihull Save Our NHS Campaign (SSONHS) was set up following an overwhelming local response to a national campaign against privatising the NHS - the 38 Degrees petition.
Members have grave concerns that the CCG - the body responsible for buying healthcare services - will be largely controlled by central government and pressured into ‘selling off’ services to private corporations.
Solihull CCG has always maintained it will put the needs of patients first and follow national guidance.
But SSONHS spokesman Terry Mandrell remained sceptical of the changes, which came into force on Monday, and said it was important that local people fought to protect the health service.
