AN ambitious team of npower colleagues will be lacing up their hiking boots and tackling Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, in support of Cancer Research UK.
The six-strong team, comprising the entire product development and optimisation department of the energy provider’s Solihull offices, will be testing their fitness and determination against the mountain, whose summit soars at over 1,300 metres above sea level.
The climb is in memory of team leader Alecsa Vlaicu’s father who tragically lost his fight with cancer last year and Alecsa has already completed a ten mile obstacle course in support of Cancer Research UK. For this adventure, the team is hoping to raise at least £700 for the charity, which npower has agreed to match via its £4£ initiative. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/PDOBenNevis
