Objections to Hampton-in-Arden housing plans.

A PLANNING application to build a new residential block in Hampton-in-Arden has been met by a raft of objections.

A PLANNING application to build a new residential block in Hampton-in-Arden has been met by a raft of objections.

The local community says the proposed housing development in Meriden Road will add to existing parking problems in the area and will be a danger to other road users and pedestrians.

The application is for a two storey block of four new houses, with seven parking spaces.

The parish council has objected to the plans, stating: “Unless the issue of parking and safe egress can be addressed or an alternative means of access and parking be agreed, the parish council would regard the development as an over-intensive use of the site with very significant safety issues for all those using the service road.” Hampton-in-Arden Society has also criticised the scheme, claiming the proposed development would be on a narrow, restricted site.
