Oil helps soothe away prickly heat

I LOVE the glorious weather we’ve been enjoying recently but there’s one thing that always spoils the summer months for me - prickly heat.

I LOVE the glorious weather we’ve been enjoying recently but there’s one thing that always spoils the summer months for me - prickly heat.

I do go brown quite easily but after just a few days of hot weather, either here or abroad, the dreaded pink spots appear - and they itch like mad!

I’ve tried all manner of remedies from taking vitamin supplements to using special sun creams and taking anti-histamine tablets.

I’ve scoured the internet as well as taking advice from my GP and fellow sufferers, but nothing seemed to do the trick - until last week when I discovered Weleda Lavender Oil.

As lavender is known for its properties for helping troubled sleepers I thought I’d give it a try as I am prone to restless nights, especially in these hot conditions (and itchy arms and legs to cope with!)

Not only did it smell rather pleasant but it also instantly calmed and soothed the angry rashes.

After repeating this for a couple of days I was prickly heat free and itch free!

It felt almost like a miracle after suffering for so many years and now I can look forward to making the most of our forthcoming holiday in the Caribbean without the misery.

Well almost - anyone know how to stop the mossies biting?

Well apparently it does that too! Fingers crossed.

* Weleda Lavenda Oil is priced £8.95 for 100ml and available from from independent health stores, Waitrose and pharmacies.
