AGEING, growing, but still smaller than anywhere else in the region - that’s Solihull’s population as described in the 2011 Census.

Over ten years, the population has grown to 206,700, up from 199,600 a decade ago - a slower increase than the West Midlands overall.

Density-wise there are 1,159 people per square mile - Birmingham, by contrast, has 4,007.

Solihull does, however, have a far larger elderly population with 19 per cent of residents over 65.
