IT was ‘jim jams’ all the way at Balsall Common Primary School when staff and pupils donned their nightwear for one day only to raise cash for Children In Need.
The giant pyjama party last Friday (November 19) raised nearly £750 but enterprising students boosted that figure to almost £900 by running a break time cake stall.
Head teacher Graeme Burgess said: “It really was a staggering effort by everyone, but nothing surprises me anymore!
“The children are superb. They independently arrange fund raising efforts all the time, whether it’s to support local charities such as the Myton Hospice, or to raise money for more far-flung causes like the Haiti earthquake.
Mr Burgess added: “It was great that all the staff got involved too, and there was certainly an eye-opening array of nightwear on display.”
