HELP is at hand to solve the crises that Christmas brings!

A new online service is now available to give advice on how to avoid problems at this busy time of the year.

Solihull Council's trading standards team is encouraging people to share their good or bad experiences at the government's Consumer Direct site, as part of National Consumer week that started on 19 November.

"Be a savvy shopper" is this year's theme and is focused on helping people avoid the Christmas shopping pitfalls.

Ann Habens, head of public protection for Solihull Council, said: "Goods and services failing to match up to expectations can be very disappointing, particularly at Christmas, but by sharing your experiences, you might be able to help other avoid being caught out."

Trading standards officers and Consumer Direct staff will be attending a number of events around the country during National Consumer week. If you have any consumer questions to ask or would like free advice, Solihull's Public Protection team will be on hand in the High Street in Solihull town centre on Friday 21 November.
