WITH spring in the air, there’s nothing like an evening of fine dining and world class entertainment to welcome in the longer days, and luckily, you don’t have to look very far to find it.
Following the huge success of last year’s screenings, Cineworld at Touchwood is proud to announce that it will be broadcasting a series of opera screenings from the Royal Opera House in London and the Glyndebourne Festival. Running throughout spring and into the summer, the screenings will bring the magical world of opera right to your doorstep in the heart of Solihull.
Kicking off the season on March 7 will be one of the Royal Opera House’s most well-loved productions, Puccini’s La Boheme. Set in Paris in the 1830s, La Boheme features some of the most memorable melodies in opera and promises to deliver an evening of stirring drama for an unforgettable experience.
Other operas on show will include L’Elisir D’Amore on March 28t, Mozart’s legendary The Marriage of Fiagro on March 11 and the famous story of Carmen composed by Georges Bizet on June 6. Audiences attending the screenings will also be able to enjoy the full theatre experience in Cineworld’s deluxe screen, which offers a spacious seating area and luxurious in-screen bar which will serve food and refreshments throughout the performance.
To celebrate the performances, the Solihull News has three pairs of tickets to give away to La Boheme on March 7th. To enter, all you need to do is answer this question:
Which city is La Boheme set in:
London; Paris; or Berlin
Please send your answers in an email entitled ‘Cineworld Opera Competition’ to firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline for entries is on Wednesday March 3.
