WITH coaches like Mike Dolby around (Solihull News) is it any wonder that few teenagers want to do track and field in Solihull?
So youngsters from outside the borough are 'hungrier' - whqat is he trying to say?
The fact is that track and field is only about athletics while Solihull is groaning with other sports associations, particularly rugby and football.
So youngster don't want to run a 100 metres in a hurry or jump abar six foot of the ground - you can hardly blame when they could be out running around with their mates doing sports they enjoy.
So come off your high horse Mike and admit there's more to the world than athletics and face the fact that our youngsters can have a great time doing other sports.
As for the idea of the Germans setting up camp in Solihull...I'm sure they'll be impressed by our broken down 'state-of-the-art' swimming pool, shabby running track and otherwise third rate facilities.
