Otters safety warning

WARWICKSHIRE Wildlife Trust has warned drivers to take extra care on the county’s roads.

WARWICKSHIRE Wildlife Trust has warned drivers to take extra care on the county’s roads.

They’ve issued the plea after an otter, which is a protected species, was recently run over on a rural road in the region.

Stephen Trotter, chief executive of the wildlife trust which covers Solihull, said: “Motorists need to take extra care to look out for wild animals on the highway... it would be great if we could reduce the carnage.”

Although otters number have dwindled in recent times, the animal has recently been sighted at the Park Hall Nature Reserve, near Castle Bromwich.
