HEARING dog Doree from Solihull has lapped up hundreds of pounds on behalf of a charity close to his heart.

Doree and owner Howard Hodgkisson recently accepted a cheque worth £700 on behalf of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People from runners Andrew Petford and Adrian Brown, who took part in one of the UK’s biggest athletic events - the BUPA Great North Run.

The pair work for Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG) and for years the Birmingham-based firm has been involved with the charity.

Vicky Ryan, Hearing Dogs’ community fund raising manager for the Midlands, said the charity is now calling on people to take up the baton and join this year’s running team in the run on Sunday, September 16 in Newcastle.

To secure your place in the BUPA Great North Run 2012 and for more information about Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, contact Vicky Ryan on 07824 329 063 or vicky.ryan@hearingdogs.org.uk.
