Park rangers and volunteers deserve thanks

I WISH to show my appreciation to our park rangers who lead many volunteers from Jaguar-Land Rover doing a day's community service in Olton Jubilee Park in Lyndon Ward.

I WISH to show my appreciation to our park rangers who lead many volunteers from Jaguar-Land Rover doing a day's community service in Olton Jubilee Park in Lyndon Ward.

On the very fine day of July 1 they painted the Lyndon Road gates and most of the children's play apparatus and bench seats in bright colours, built a wooden bridge and cleared a path to the conservation area and cleared undergrowth at the Dene Court Road entrance area.

One of the volunteers said to me: "I hate painting" - but he came and did it for us anyway! Residents know there is yet more work needed in our parks but we really are grateful to these public-spirited people for doing such a great job.
