Tender Years Day Nursery marked their 21st year in style with a party inviting past and present children, staff and parents to come and join the fun.

The day also saw a special tree planted in memory of the nursery founder Mary Meechan who passed away in December of last year. The nursery remains a family business and is now run by Mary’s eldest daughter, Lisa Whitehouse.

Past children and parents enjoyed returning to reminisce and look around their old nursery, whilst staff enjoyed seeing the children they had once cared for, some returning children were now in their twenties.

Younger children enjoyed making instruments, planting seeds and having a sing a long with ‘Martin’ the nursery music man. Local police stopped by to join the party and children were thrilled to try on hats and handcuffs and even got to sit in the police car.
