Police are investigating after a pedestrian died and a motorcyclist and his passenger were left fighting for life following an horrific crash in Birmingham.
The pedestrian, aged in his 40s, went into cardiac arrest after the collision in Coventry Road, Yardley, at about 1.50am on Sunday. He died at the scene, despite the efforts of passers-by.
The bike rider and passenger, both aged in their 20s, suffered multiple serious injuries and are in a critical condition in hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found three patients who had been involved in a significant collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian was in cardiac arrest and CPR was being carried out by bystanders. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done and he was confirmed dead on scene.’’
