Get in the pink for cancer campaign

SOLIHULL Cancer Research UK customers are invited to join local staff and volunteers at a special Pink Party on October 22 to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

SOLIHULL Cancer Research UK customers are invited to join local staff and volunteers at a special Pink Party on October 22 to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Solihull team will be getting in the pink to promote Cancer Research UK’s new ‘Join the fight for women’s survival’ campaign and encouraging other Silhillians to follow their lead and organise their own fundraising events, with help from Cancer Research UK’s free fundraising pack.

Around 4,100 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the West Midlands region each year but thanks to research into earlier diagnosis and better treatment, more and more women are surviving.

Judy Parkins, manager of the Cancer Research UK shop in Solihull said “Breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer in the UK, so it is really important that we all play our part in raising awareness and vital funds to combat the disease”.

Supporters can request a fundraising pack full of tips for organising an event to raise money and new recruits can also kit themselves out with the charity’s pink and blue ‘camo’ ribbon, available in the form of an enamel pin badge from Cancer Research UK shops. To receive a free Cancer Research UK fundraising pack, visit www.jointhefight.org.uk or call 08701 60 20 40
