Residents are being invited to come and have their say about plans to build almost 200 new houses on a site adjoining Tidbury Green School.

Lioncourt Homes is holding a public exhibition next week, where local residents will have chance to examine the initial proposals for the 185-dwelling development.

Andy Faizey, strategic land director, said the new estate would be a low-density garden suburb, although the expansion of the village is likely to be divisive.

"Comments received during the consultation will help us create a scheme that provides much needed new homes within the area, whilst providing a range of benefits for the existing community," he said.

The piece of land is outside the green belt and has been identified as a site for new homes for more than 15 years.

The public exhibition takes place at Earlswood Methodist Church, Wood Lane, on Tuesday, June 4. Visitors are welcome from 3.30-7.30pm.

If you are unable to attend, copies of the plans will be available at www.tidburygreen.co.uk from the next day.
