PLANT a tree for the Queen’s Jubilee - that’s the message from a trio of councillors who have done just that in Malvern Park.
Couns Kate Wild, Joe Tildesley and Stuart Davis (Con, St Alphege) put the spade to the soil on Monday morning.
The three had paid for the tree - an Acer campestre variety known as the Queen Elizabeth - themselves.
Coun Wild, who is also cabinet member for community services, said: “I want to encourage people across Solihull to support the Jubilee.
“I think it would be wonderful if individuals, organisations and groups got together and planted a tree to mark this special occasion.”
