MARSTON Green residents will be pleased to hear that planters - which were taken away by Solihull Council last month - are being returned to the village.
The blooms had been removed a few weeks ago, as part of a cost-cutting exercise - raising the ire of some local residents.
But Bickenhill Parish Council said that the planters were due to be returned to leafy Station Road this week.
Parish councillor Linda Poulson thanked Solihull Council for their co-operation: “It caused a lot of comment in the village when they were taken away, so it will be nice to have them back,” she said.
“We listened to what the residents told us and were pleased to reach an agreement.
Earlier this year, Solihull Council, announced it was trimming its flower-bed budget by £22,000.
In future the planters - which brighten up the village centre - will be maintained by the parish council.
