Playground opens

A NEW playground is now available for children with disabilities.

A NEW playground is now available for children with disabilities.

The new play area was opened on July 28 at the Renewal Family Centre in Vulcan Road, Solihull, and was created from a government grant aiming to improve facilities for local disabled children.

Youngsters of all ages can play in a safe area using equipment such as wheelchair swings, trampolines, musical instruments, sand and water play, tricycles and a sensory garden.

Nikki Reeves, a local parent said: “I have used the playground today with my daughter Isabel and my son Danny who has Downs Syndrome. They have both really enjoyed themselves and there’s some great equipment.”

During the summer holidays, the play area will be open seven days a week.
