A MAN who was stabbed to death in Acocks Green has been named as 45-year-old local man Junior Reeves.

Junior was found unconscious in Gospel Lane last Wednesday morning after suffering a single stab wound to the back.

He died in hospital later that day with many members of his heartbroken family at his bedside.

“Junior’s family are devastated by his death and we need to quickly establish exactly what happened,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Howat, who is leading the investigation into the murder.

“Junior appeared to keep himself to himself - but we need to hear from those that knew him, or who saw him on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning before his death. We would also really like to hear from anyone who was in the Gospel Lane area just before or around the time of the stabbing.”

Mr Reeves, who lived in Acocks Green, was unemployed and single. A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder and appeared before Solihull magistrates last Saturday.

Anyone with information is urged to contact CID at Kings Heath on 0845 113 5000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
