POLICE are still trying to trace a thief who stole £3000 worth of work tools on Christmas morning.

The cruel crook prised open the doors of a van in St Bernards Road, Olton, and helped himself to the equipment.

The suspect is a white male in his late 20s or 30s, of slim build and described as having a ‘prominent’ nose.

He was wearing a two-tone blue and grey jacket when he was spotted skulking around the area.

But when he returned to break into the van a short whole later, he was wearing a different dark-coloured top.

Among the tools stolen were a Paslode IM65 nail gun, a Makita impact drill, Bosch planer, Bosch multi-purpose drill, Hilti Batter drill and a Hilti breaker.

If you think you know the thief responsible or have been offered the tools for sale call Det Sgt Andrew O’Keeffe, at Solihull CID, on 0345 113 5000.

Readers with information can also speak to Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
