A DISGRUNTLED bus user grabbed another passenger around the neck and verbally abused her because she was talking too loudly on her mobile phone.

The victim, who managed to take a picture of her alleged attacker on her phone, was on the 97a bus between Birmingham and Chelmsley Wood at around 3pm on Wednesday, June 15, when the man accused her of chatting too loudly on her phone.

The woman suffered scratches to her chest and neck as the man grabbed her, trying to wrestle the handset from her grip, according to police.

Police have now issued the image taken on the woman's mobile phone to help trace the man.

PC Ashley Crowley said: I would encourage the man pictured or anyone who knows him, to contact us.

"We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling on the bus at this time to contact us with further details."

The man is described as white, large build, aged around 65 with grey hair.

Anyone with information on the identity of the man is asked to contact Solihull local policing unit on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
