SHELDON schoolgirl Emma Hanson has won a competition to name two of West Midlands Police’s newest recruits.

Ten-year-old Emma, from Sheldon, christened the puppies Boss and Bingo.

The Lyndon Green School pupil was delighted to win the competition, advertised in the force’s all-new Safe Street newspaper - aimed at local children.

Last week dog-breeder Dave Raymond surprised Emma during her Year 5 assembly, bringing the two German Shepherds with him.

“When I was called out in assembly I was really shocked,” said Emma. “I loved the surprise visit and so did my friends.”
