Police all set to build on links by blogging

THERE are often calls for more police on the beat, but now one borough inspector will be going “on the blog”.

THERE are often calls for more police on the beat, but now one borough inspector will be going “on the blog”.

Insp Phil Radbourne, who heads up the south Solihull neighbourhood team, has gone online to forge closer links with local people.

His blog is designed to keep people up to date with what his team have been doing. There will also be advice on preventing crime, police meetings and details on which officers are responsible for each area.

Insp Radbourne said: “By communicating in this way, I hope to reach a wider audience and let them know how neighbourhood policing works in their area.

“I am the first neighbourhood policing inspector at West Midlands Police to launch their own blogging site and I hope to encourage as many people as possible, whether they are local residents, local businesses or visitors to the area, to chat to me about any issues they may have about policing in their area.”

The south Solihull team are responsible for policing St Alphege, Elmdon, Lyndon, Silhill and Olton.
