Police suspect arson attack in Dorridge pub car park

ARSON is suspected as the cause of a weekend fire involving a car burnt-out on the rear car park at the Drum and Monkey pub, Four Ashes Road, Dorridge.

ARSON is suspected as the cause of a weekend fire involving a car burnt-out on the rear car park at the Drum and Monkey pub, Four Ashes Road, Dorridge.

It is believed it belonged to a member of staff. No-one was injured. A Billesley-based fire crew, called out just after 11.30pm on Saturday, was at the scene for about half an hour.

A brigade spokesman described the fire as “severe.” No-one from the pub company Spirit Group could be contacted for comment.

A Police spokeswoman confirmed yesterday (Tuesday) that the incident was being treated as arson. Anyone with information is asked to contact Solihull police on 0845 113 5000 or ring Crimestoppers - anonymously - on 0800 555 111.
