Police thanks for neighbours

NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch co-ordinators in Solihull have been recognised by the police for their long-standing commitment and hard work.

NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch co-ordinators in Solihull have been recognised by the police for their long-standing commitment and hard work.

As part of National Neighbourhood Watch Week, West Midlands Police in Solihull invited residents to the local station to say thank you for their dedication to their role.

The co-ordinators, some with over 15 years of service, were each presented with a certificate from Chief Superintendent Carl Foulkes.

Afterwards they enjoyed a light buffet and and had the opportunity to chat with other co-ordinators, the community partnership officer and inspectors.

Chief Supt Foulkes said: “We organised the event as an opportunity to say thank you for all the hard work, commitment and loyalty that these long-standing co-ordinators have given to Neighbourhood Watch.

“We have 36 co-ordinators who have each given at least 15 years of their time to the scheme.”

Police are looking for new people to join Neighbourhood Watch and anyone interested should contact Community Partnership Officer Celia Davies on 0845 113 5000.
