ENVIRONMENTAL officers from Solihull Council have been investigating possible pollution of a steam in Tudor Grange Park.
The alarm was raised on Tuesday morning after a member of the public telephoned the council to say the water in Alder Brook was bright orange. Officials were sent to inspect the brook, which flows into a lake in the park and is home to ducks and geese.
Their initial feeling was that the discolouration was probably caused by clay washed into the brook by recent heavy rain rather than a possible chemical spillage.
Council environment manager Alan Brown said: “We will talk to the Environment Agency if there are any serious problems.”
