A Hall Green dental practice is celebrating after scooping awards in all four categories at the prestigious Dentistry Awards ceremony - making them the only practice in the country and history of the prestigious awards to do so.
Sherwood Dental Practice took “Best practice in the Midlands 2008/09” at the exclusive Black Tie event hosted by Olympic Gold Medallist Kriss Akabussi, while Principal and practice owner Dr. Saaqib Ali, was also “Highly Commended” as the “Best Young Dentist in the Midlands”.
Practice Orthodontist, Edward John Crouch, was announced as the winner of the “UK Outstanding achievement award” which recognises those individuals that have gone beyond the call of duty in the last year.
Designed to recognise excellence in dentistry on a regional and national basis, the awards which were held in December last year were attended by over 700 dental professionals.
Dr Ali said: “I am ecstatic that the practice has one such a prestigious award. What makes this achievement so special is that we are predominantly an NHS practice. The other five dental practices that we were short listed against were all renowned private practices from the Midlands. This is an unprecedented achievement and I’m so proud of my team for all of their hard work and commitment. I would also like to thank our fantastic patients for their continued patronage and those individuals whose testimonials were used in our submissions to the judging panel.”
The new awards join the Midlands “Best Team and Best Young Dentist” accolades that the practice picked up last year at the awards ceremony.
Nicky Gray, practice manager added: “We are really proud that we are the only practice in the whole country and in the history of the awards that has ever won all four categories of these prestigious awards.”
