THE streets of Solihull are paved with gold - well, almost.
According to a new survey of property prices, there are nine roads in and around the borough among the 20 most expensive residential locations in the West Midlands.
Streetsbrook Road, with a B91 postcode, is in sixth place in the list with an average house price of £865,618, followed closely by Poolhead Lane, Tanworth-in-Arden, Alderbrook Road, Solihull, and Temple Road, Dorridge.
Further down the list are Dorridge Road and Knowle Wood Road, both in Dorridge, Jacobean Lane, Copt Heath, and Hampton Lane and Lovelace Avenue, both in Solihull.
The most expensive street in the region is Wellington Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham, where a home buyer has to fork out £945,500 on average.
Jane Smith, from Savills Residential, said a combination of high-end family houses, good schools, commuter links and shopping facilities had all combined to make Solihull such a sought after location and helped it to counter some of the property slump.
