FIVE schools from the Solihull region tasted the academic side of university life when they participated in a research project.
Pupils from Arden School, Dorridge Junior School, Knowle CE Primary School, Lady K Leveson CE School and St Teresa Catholic Primary School joined forces with Warwick University. producing individual work on the theme ‘play’.
The students, aged from 9 to 13, observed a variety of subjects such as the history of games and play equipment.
They then went on to the mature and responsible task of planning playgrounds to ensure effective and purposeful play.
The project was launched by the ‘Young Students as Researchers’ programme on December 2 last year.
