HALL Green’s most established restaurant celebrated their annual Christmas and Eid celebration last Sunday.
The occasion was hosted by Chair of the Bangladesh Business Forum; Mr Faizur Choudhury MBE and joined by almost 90 guests from the community, included dignitaries such as Steve McCabe MP, Paul Fulford and newly elected Crime Commissioner Mr. Bob Jones.
Mr Choudhury, who founded the Purple Rooms in 1988, emphasised the challenging environment the curry industry is facing and more importantly, the country is facing. He said the UK curry industry consisted of nearly 10,000 Indian restaurants, employing over 100,000 employees serving nearly three million customers per week. The industry is worth over £4 billion pounds.
The event moved on towards remembering religion and faith. Mr McCabe praised Mr Choudhury for his commitment in bringing communities together and working hard to push the economy forward. Bob Jones, who was newly elected as the Midland’s Police and Crime Commissioner shared his views on crime and the influence of good business. He promised improvement in the coming year.
