THE Burton Green HS2 Action Group will be holding a Festival and Rally on Sunday July 4 from 2pm - 5pm.
The group is working with 35 other action groups and HS2 Action Alliance protesting against plans for High Speed Rail.
The event will see a marching band, procession, rally on the Greenway and events and afternoon tea in the Village Hall.
Action Group Chairman Jerry Marshall said: “HS2 will increase CO2 emissions, destroy the Greenbelt, and cost taxpayers an average £1,600 each.
“Furthermore, the economic case is based on flawed passenger demand projections. The result will inevitably be a repeat of HS1, which recently halved train lengths and is being sold off at a 70 per cent discount.”
