Rain fails to dampen fun run spirit

TORRENTIAL rain on Sunday might have dampened the proceedings but it didn’t deter hundreds of people from taking part in this year’s Dorridge Fun Run.

TORRENTIAL rain on Sunday might have dampened the proceedings but it didn’t deter hundreds of people from taking part in this year’s Dorridge Fun Run.

Despite the wet weather organisers reckon they still had about 1,000 people taking part - 150 of whom signed up on the day - despite the dreadful weather.

Peter Marshall, one of the team of organisers said: “In total we will raise about £20,000, which is the same as last year, and amazing given the current economic climate, the squeeze on corporate sponsorship and the awful weather on the day.”

All funds raised will be divided equally between Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, a totally voluntary organisation paid for through fund raising and the worthy Acorns Children’s Hospice.
