Real culprits

THERE have been genuine concerns about a variety of expense claims by MPs.

THERE have been genuine concerns about a variety of expense claims by MPs.

But I wonder if the Telegraph campaign has not turned out to be a great ‘bonus’ for our dear friends the top bankers of the last 10 years, and that genius who supposedly had the job of looking after our finances from 1997 onwards, the one and only Gordon Brown.

I think these people still need to answer for their actions, and sensible rules need to be put in place to stop a repeat performance of their total madness.

The financial mess they have created has had massive damage to our job opportunities, savings, taxes and government services for years to come, that Brown does not dare be honest about until the next election is over. Whatever the rights or wrongs of an unpaid claim for a duck house, I don’t think it has had a pennyworth of effect on your job or mine in Solihull, unlike the financial tsunami caused by the criminally insane bankers.

Mr D Hartley, Damsonwood, Solihull
