Real life crackdown on Solihull speeders on TV

More than 150 resident watched live footage from a police speeding operation in Hockley Heath last week

More than 150 resident watched live footage from a police speeding operation in Hockley Heath last week.

Officers from Solihulls traffic department streamed behind-the-scenes clips from the speed trap theyd set up on the Stratford Road.

The 30 minute event included contributions from local neighbourhood sergeant Craig Hurst, community speedwatch volunteer Rob Horsfield and Hillfield mum Angela Collard, whose son Adam was killed in a collision in 2011.

During the operation, last Tuesday teatime, 19 vehicles were recorded exceeding the speed limit on the stretch of road - where residents have previously raised concerns.

Those who were clocked going over 30mph face prosecution or may be asked to take a speed awareness course.

If you missed the live event, the footage is still available to view, just search for the Solihullpolice channel at Youtube.com
