THE family behind proposals to erect a marina in the village of Lowsonford, have spoken out to reassure local residents.
The Deaner family, who live at Poundley End, are hoping to build a 100 berth marina in conjunction with GPJ Marina Developments, the company who are also behind a planned marina in nearby Lapworth.
Residents of the small village turned out
in force to a public meeting last month, to hear first hand the proposals from the developers.
Kathryn Deaner said: “Our plans are based on a desire to secure the long-term viability of our farm at Poundley End.
“We are seeking planning permission for a non-residential, environmentally sensitive, moorings off the canal, which will generate an additional income to our other farming activities.
“We do expect that there will be some local employment created, and have had support from some people who understand these benefits, and welcome the project.”
