SOLIHULL businesswoman Susie Ankrett has been appointed as a new director for the West Midlands Region of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).
The REC is the trade association for the UK’s £27 billion private recruitment and employment industry. Susie, who is director of Plum Personnel based in Warwick Road, Solihull, will be active in promoting the REC in the region and in particular, its core role of raising awareness of professional standards throughout the recruitment industry.
She will also be involved in a series of events the REC is holding in the West Midands region and will act as the REC’s local “ambassador” with employers, MEPs and MPs.
For 20 years Susie was a lecturer and manager at Solihull College then worked in training and development with the Industrial Society. She had a change of career in 2001 when she set up Plum Personnel with her business partner and closest friend, Julie Whitehouse.
One of her greatest achievements was appearing in Hansard after she suggested to Lorely Burt MP a Bill to extend the rights of parents for flexible working which was presented and read in Parliamen.
Susie said: “I have always been passionate and serious about ensuring the highest standards are met and maintained in our business to ensure that both candidates and clients alike receive the best possible service.
“I feel privileged, excited and enthusiastic at having the opportunity to contribute to the work of the REC on a local basis..”
