SCORES of Silhillians will be sitting down to a cuppa and a slice of cake for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning next month.
The annual fund raiser - organised by Macmillan Cancer Support - has always received a great deal of support in the borough.
Activities are now in the pipeline for this year’s event and the charity is hoping that local people will get behind the activities.
Cat Yates, local fund raising manager, said: “Last year we had a big event in Mell Square and we’re already talking about what we can do this time round. This is our biggest event of the year and there’s definitely going to be a lot going on in Solihull.”
Local girl Jenny Sedgwick is among those who is helping to organise the programme of events. Her granddad was diagnosed with stomach cancer, but received treatment, overcame the illness and lived for another 15 years. “It is a wonderful charity,” said Jenny.
This year the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is on September 25. To take part call 0845 602 1246 or go to www.coffeemorningregister.org.uk.
