A BROOD of ducklings saved by a local teacher are on the road to recovery at Heronfield Animal Rescue Centre.

The baby birds were brought in from Monkspath Hall School, where a teacher rescued them from a magpie attack.

Mitch Withey, who owns the rescue centre, said that the birds were doing well and hopefully would be released back into the wild.

Heronfield Animal Rescue, near Knowle, is open daily from 9am-5pm.
