P THOMAS – in reply to your ridiculous attack on me (Letters, June 3), you’re completely missing the point of what I was trying to say.
Firstly, you have your faith, which you obviously blindly follow regardless of the fact there is no hard evidence that any of it is true (that’s the point of faith, isn’t it?)
See, I do know the difference between faith and religion!
That’s your right, and I respect you for that. But please can I ask that you also respect my right to have no faith at all.
I’m not worried about not getting into your mythical heaven, because I don’t believe it exists.
Secondly, the main point of my original letter was to ask that you stop bombarding the letters page criticising anyone else who doesn’t agree exactly with your views.
Your views are personal to you so, as far as I’m concerned, please celebrate your faith in your own way, and let everyone else worship (or not) in whatever way they wish. In other words, show a bit of respect, please.
