POLICE in Solihull are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in which an 84-year-old woman was left injured.

POLICE in Solihull are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in which an 84-year-old woman was left injured.

The robbery occured on Saturday December 6, as the elderly woman walked along Colling Walk in Kingshurst, Solihull, between 4.15-4.30pm.

As she walked along the road, she was approached from behind by a man who pulled her bag from her shoulder, causing her to fall over and break her collar bone and injure her arm.

He then stole her bag containing a small amount of cash, her glasses and bus pass, before running off.

The elderly woman was taken to hospital, and detained due to her injuries.

DC Paul Gaston from Solihull CID said: “We are investigating this incident and are appealing for any witnesses to contact us, we do not have a description of the offender at present as the woman was attacked from behind. We need anyone who saw the attack on Saturday afternoon or anyone who has information about it to contact the Robbery Team at Solihull on 0121 712 6080 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
