BLYTHE Valley Business Park is urging its tenants to swap their suits for shorts, or even fancy dress, in preparation for its ninth annual Charity Fun Run.
This year’s event, which takes place on Sunday 16 September, is set to be bigger and better than ever, with more than 400 people, from businesses and the local community expected to take part, competing over three distances, from the 500m fun run, to 5km and 10km distance races.
All proceeds will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Big Build Appeal, which aims to reach its £7 million target in order to complete a new palliative care centre for terminally ill adults, within the next 18 months.
The event is organised by Shirley Lions Club and Liberty Property Trust UK, which manages Blythe Valley Park in partnership with Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate.
Kate Smith, of Liberty Property Trust UK, said: “We’re really excited about this year’s event, as we’re expecting a record number of entrants not only from local people, but also from runners from across the country.
“I’m looking forward to dusting off my trainers to compete in this year’s race and look forward to welcoming people of all ages and abilities to the park to take part in the race, raise money for a worthwhile cause and most importantly to have fun.”
