Safer festive season

‘TIS the season to stay safe – that’s the message from Safer Solihull.

‘TIS the season to stay safe – that’s the message from Safer Solihull.

Tips to ensure Solihull residents enjoy a happy Christmas are being distributed during a special festive campaign.

The Safer Christmas Campaign run by the Safer Solihull Partnership will give out advice on how to avoid the types of crime that traditionally cause a problem at this time of year.

Every Friday during December, representatives from Safer Solihull will be in Solihull town centre handing out purse alarms and information on how to prevent thefts of Christmas presents. They will also be at Sears shopping centre in Shirley and Chelmsley Wood shopping centre.

Councillor Mrs Diana Holl-Allen, cabinet member for safer communities, said: “At this time of year, people are busy preparing for Christmas and it’s easy to forget basic safety advice so this campaign is designed to give them a reminder.

“Christmas can be a thief’s paradise and the gifts that we all buy are a major attraction, along with the money and vouchers that we carry around.”
