DORRIDGE residents turned out last month to a workshop organised by Sainsbury’s.
Attended by 30 villagers, the event saw members of Sainsbury’s development team discuss the regeneration of Forest Court with locals.
Jaime Powell, Sainsbury’s regional town planning manager said: “I would like to thank the residents who attended the workshop, which was a very successful and constructive meeting, enabling the Sainsbury’s team to fully appreciate the desires and aspirations for the redevelopment of the site.
"Members of the groups Dorridge and District Residents Association and Dorridge Residents Opposed to Village Superstore, as well as residents living on Forest Road, were amongst those present at the workshop, which was also attended by Councillors Ken Meeson and Andy Mackiewicz. The DDRA’s own review of the workshop is available to view on its website at http://www.dorridge.org.uk/sainsbury.php. The review was published on Monday, July 19.
"I would also like to thank the local community for taking the time to complete the questionnaires which we recently delivered. To date, we have received over 1,000 responses.
"When we have fully analysed the results from the questionnaires, together with findings from the workshop, we will formulate a scheme. Once we have established its feasibility, we will consult with the local community.”
